Apple Orchard Mountain - 4,225 feet.  Once an Air Force radar base, the meadows were
covered with barracks and support-service buildings for 250 people.  This is the highest point on the
A.T. between Chestnut Knob and Mt. Moosilauke in New Hampshire.
