The picture I am posting to this is my 20 year old son. He was born on Dec. 27, 1989. On Dec. 31 we took him to Huntsville Hospital in Huntsville, Alabama with vomiting, excessive sleeping and I could never seem to get him warm even though he was only a few days old. They ended up medivacing him to UAB where on January 3 he under went surgeory for Coarctation of the Aorta. If was the worst time in my life. Dr. Pacifico did the surgeory..he saved Isaiahs life. I just happened today to search the doctors name and came across your article. I don't know if Dr. Pacifico will ever see this but I want to thank him for saving my sons life. Isaiah is the light of my life, he is funny, smart, outgoing, he has an amazing zest for life and a good heart in more ways than one. THANK YOU DR. PACIFICO....YOU ARE AN AMAZING DOC AND PERSON I REMEMBER YOU BEING SO GOOD TO US AND PATIENT WITH US SINCE I MYSELF WAS A YOU 19 YEAR OLD MOTHER. i had surgery performed on November 30, 1981 by Dr. pacifico. My mother and father were told by other doctors that i would not survive and that i should just be taken home and loved until i passed away. i was then sent to UAB to have surgery by Dr Pacifico. I had trasnposition of great arteries with large ventricular septal defect, patent ductus arteriosus. Because of him saving my life back 28 years ago i now have two wonderful boys, am a police officer and have been for 7 years. i can not say thanks enough.

Just randomly doing some research on a GoLite bag I just purchased on ebay and stumbled upon your gear list. Which lead me to your backpacking page, AT page, etc. Anyways, I haven't gotten all the way through the site yet, but so far pretty cool.

I'm going to start section hiking the trail in April '09. The pictures are great and the gear list is helpful for me. I wouldn't mind doing a section with you sometime.

Enjoyed the site. Especially you're beautiful baby. I have two of my own, but they are in college now. Hope they will always find a friend in the TRUTH.Great pictures of some great minds. Would love to be able to claim the same. Best to those who never stop asking questions; settle for lame explanations or lose their sense of wonder. ( Especially in adulthood.)

Hello Josh, it's a great idea to share our experiences with all the people that Mr. Pacifico had safe lives. He is a wonderful person and one of the best surgeries in the world. It's a pity that he retires so soon. In our case he made a surgery to my sister 25 years ago (she was 6 years old), we came from Madrid, Spain to UAB because in our country there's no doctor with the level and experience as Dr. Pacifico. She has been all this years with a great health, he made a miracle because she had a really complicate problem. Sorry I don't know exactly the name in English. Today she needs to make a new surgery, unfortunately Dr. Pacifico has retired, and we are going to Chicago as they have recommended us a doctor there. Thank you Josh for your initiative, and to Dr. Pacifico for his wonderful job.
